A leatherback sea turtle has laid 120 eggs on a beach in the Thai Mueang district.
The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that on Thursday (January 11th) a mother sea turtle laid eggs on the Thai Mueang Beach.
The DMCR found a sea turtle nest with 120 leatherback sea turtle eggs. Of those, 66 were fertile eggs.
The eggs were relocated to a safer area on the beach where sea water could not reach the nest. The DMCR officials stated that the baby sea turtles should hatch in about 60 days.
