Phang Nga –

A leatherback sea turtle laid 118 eggs on a beach in the Tai Mueang district.

The Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park staffers told the Phuket Express that on Friday (December 8th) they found a sea turtle nest on a beach in the national park area.

In total 118 leatherback sea turtle eggs were found inside the nest. Of those, 84 are fertile eggs.

The eggs were relocated to a safer area on the beach where sea water could not reach the nest.

It is believed that in about 60 days that baby leatherback sea turtles will hatch, or about February of next year, 2024.
