Patong –
A man was arrested for selling fireworks on Patong Beach, part of an ongoing campaign to try to rid the beach of fireworks.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express over this long weekend of August 1st, 2023, that they had received complaints from concerned citizens that fireworks were being sold and displayed at Patong Beach and had become a public nuisance to both locals and tourists.
Patong Police later inspected Patong Beach and arrested a man who was not identified by them. Seized from him was a collection of various fireworks. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of selling fireworks without permission.

Five fireworks were seized on Patong beach.
