Phuket Reports Total of Two Deaths in Six Days of New Year Seven Days Road Safety Campaign

Phuket has announced in total 2 deaths with 35 injuries and 36 accidents in six days (December 29th, 2023 – January 3rd, 2024) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign (December 29th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Thursday (January 4th) details on the sixth day of the safety campaign (January 3rd) with a total of 7 road accidents, 6 injuries, and 1 death.

There were 2 road accidents with 2 injuries in Mueang Phuket district. Two road accidents with 2 injuries were in Thalang. Three road accidents with two injuries and one death were in Kathu district.

All road accidents involved motorcycles.

Five were speeding related.

Four road accidents were on straight roads.

Phuket has now had two fatalities in total, on the fifth day of the campaign.
