1. A Thai man has been reported missing after he went swimming in the sea ignoring red flags at a beach in Thalang.

Red flags were in place for no swimming because of strong wind and waves.

A body of a Thai man was found on large rocks at a beach in the Thalang district.

 Friends of Tawat have unofficially confirmed to The Phuket Express that the body was indeed Mr. Tawat.

2. Two Indian tourists drowned at Karon Beach, Mueang Phuket, after allegedly ignoring red flags and no swimming warnings.

Red flags were placed on the beach which meant no swimming allowed placed along the beach.

3. A shirtless and shoeless South African man was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation after he caused a public nuisance.

His relatives told police that the South African man was nervous about a job and had not slept for three days.

4. Police chased after a Nigerian man in a sedan ,whose passport had expired about four years prior, for about 20 kilometers and later seized cocaine at a house in Phuket where the man resided.

Mr. Ananere is expected to be blacklisted and deported. He did not immediately enter a plea and is facing significant jail time for the cocaine and resisting arrest.

5. A Russian tourist drowned at a beach in Thalang, allegedly ignoring red flags and no swimming warnings.

This is the fifth person to drown recently in Phuket during this past week, with four of them being foreign tourists. 

6. Oil stains were found on several beaches in Thalang along with a baby sea turtle that appeared to have been impacted by the oil.

Samples of oil were collected to investigate the source and the oil stains were immediately cleaned from the beaches.
