Phuket –

A Thai man has been reported missing after he went swimming in the sea ignoring red flags at a beach in Thalang.

The Cherng Talay Police were notified of the incident on Sunday (July 30th) in the afternoon at Surin Beach. Rescue divers arrived and the Phuket Express arrived at the beach where red flags were in place for no swimming because of strong wind and waves.

According to witnesses, the unidentified Thai man went swimming in the sea with his friends. Two of them got back to the beach after being hit by large waves. However, one of them was still missing. The man was a blue collar worker who had just arrived in Phuket for the first time. The search was paused due to strong winds and waves.
