Foreign Tourist Allegedly Steals Cannabis Buds from Patong Shop

A foreign tourist allegedly stole cannabis buds from a shop in Patong.

The owner of a cannabis shop in Patong, supported with CCTV footage, told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (July 18th) in the evening two foreign tourists came into the cannabis shop.

They were interested in cannabis and asked a female staffer to have a look at some. One of the them then took some ‘cannabis buds’ before putting them in his pocket. He stole in total three times according to CCTV footage.

The cannabis shop owner has filed a report to the Patong Police and wants the foreigner to pay for the stolen ‘cannabis buds’.

Police were still attempting to identify the foreigners. The name of the shop and owner were withheld pending further investigation.

The Phuket Express noted that cannabis buds are still technically illegal to sell without a medical license and reason as seen below.

Seven people have been arrested for allegedly illegally processing cannabis buds on Bangla Road and Soi Sane Sabai in Patong.

A man was arrested in Patong for allegedly illegally selling cannabis buds and being unable to present a legal license for selling cannabis.
