Seven People Arrested in Patong for Allegedly Illegally Processing Cannabis Buds

Seven people have been arrested for allegedly illegally processing cannabis buds on Bangla Road and Soi Sane Sabai in Patong.

On Monday night (March 13th) a team of medical staffers from the Department of Thai Traditional Medicine and the Patong Police inspected cannabis shops on Bangla Road and in Soi Sane Sabai.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that seven people have been arrested. They are being accused of processing controlled herbs (cannabis buds) without permission.

Officials from the Department of Thai Traditional Medicine told the Phuket Express that in Phuket, there are 1,244 venues registered for selling cannabis and 1,192 have received legal licenses, according to the latest record until March. This number is number one of every province in Thailand.
