The unemployment rate in Phuket was only at 6 percent which is about 25,000 unemployed persons.
2. Phuket entertainment businesses are calling for a legal closing time extension to 2:00 A.M..
“Entertainment businesses will earn more income and they can hire more staffers. So there will be more employment as well which will also boost the economy,” said the president of the Patong Entertainment Business Association Mr. Weerawit Krueasombat.
Ms. Lange and her family thanked everyone involved that have helped them until they are back home.
4. The Phuket Provincial Public Health Office is strictly following measurements to prevent monkeypox.
The Phuket Provincial Public Health Chief Doctor Kusak Kukiattikoon told the Phuket Express, “No Monkeypox has been found in Phuket or Thailand at this stage. We have strictly followed measurements of people who arrived in Phuket from other countries.”
5. Strong wind at about noon this week has damaged food booths at the Kata/Karon food festival.
However, no injuries were reported as the festival starts in the late afternoon.
