UPDATE: British Tourist and Thai Cooker Missing after Diving Boat Capsized in Phang Nga

A search has continued for a British tourist and a Thai cook after a diving boat capsized near an island in the Khura Buri district.

Now for the update:

The Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command told the Phuket Express that The search has continued since Saturday (December 23rd) with both a marine and air search.

A life raft which is believed to have come from the diving boat was found near the Tachai Island in the Thai Mueang district, about 20 nautical miles from the incident.

The two missing people have been identified as a female British tourist identified only as Valeria and a female Thai cook named Lamai.

Similar incidents recently in the south and Pattaya:

About seventy tourists were evacuated after water leaked into a night ferry before it eventually sank near Ang Thong Island.

Four Russians and a Thai tour guide have been rescued after a boat capsized in Mueang Phang Nga.

A tourist speedboat, “Bandaya 19,” capsized near Bubu Island, about 3 km from Satun’s Lipe Island, Sunday (Dec 24). The boat carried 73 tourists, including 3 children and 4 crew members.

A catamaran carrying 29 people, the majority being foreign tourists, capsized this evening, December 23rd, 2023, near Dongtan Beach after coming from Koh Larn near sunset. There were six minor injuries.
