Short Period of Rain Causes Flooding in Phuket

Phuket –

Some areas of Phuket suffered from floods after a short period of rain causing long traffic jams for an hour during the day.

The heavy rain hit some parts of Rassada and Kathu for about half an hour on Monday (September 18th). Some areas and roads were flooded such as at Sam Kong Intersection to Yaowarad Road, Soi Pa Nieang and the Phra Phuket Kaew Road in Kathu.

There were traffic jams on many roads in flooded areas but within one hour of the flooding, the water on the roads was already receding.

The Meteorological Department of Thailand has forecast heavy rains for 33 provinces in the next 24 hours, with 70% of Bangkok expected to be affected.
