Now for the update:

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (September 5th) a Thai man identified only as Mr. Kosit, 36, has surrendered to the Patong Police while accompanied by his lawyer.

Kosit was a wanted suspect from an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court for the accusation of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying gun in public without a proper reason, and opening fire in public.

Kosit initially has claimed that the injured man and his friend attacked him first and that Kosit only used the gun to protect himself in self-defence.

Kosit remained in custody as of press time and Patong police planned to further interview both the suspect and victim and further examine CCTV evidence taken from the scene of the crime.
