Two more cannabis shops in Patong have had their licenses paused after they were found to be breaking various rules.

Our previous stories:

A 49-year-old American tourist apologized after a video clip of him using a machine to blow cannabis smoke across Bangla Road went viral on social media, leading to intense debate around cannabis and cannabis rules and regulations.

Legal action is being taken against 13 unlicensed cannabis shops in Phuket and 18 cannabis shop licenses were paused.

Now for the update:

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they and officials from the Phuket Provincial Public Health Department inspected multiple cannabis shops in Patong.

Officials checked licenses and made sure that shops did not sell cannabis to people aged under 20, to pregnant women and to mothers feeding milk to babies and also, the big one, that cannabis is not allowed to be smoked in public. This includes in the shops.

Two cannabis shops were found to be breaking the rules and their licenses have been paused. The Phuket Express noted officials did not mention which rules they broke.
