Sea Turtle Rescued After Getting Stuck in Fishing Net on Beach in Phuket

A sea turtle has been rescued after it became stuck in a fishing net on a beach on Thalang.

Staffers at the Sirinat National Park told the Phuket Express on Monday (July 17th) that a sea turtle that was still alive was found stuck in a fishing net. The sea turtle had been washed up on Layan Beach in Cherng Talay.

It was discovered to be an Olive Ridley sea turtle. The fishing net was slowly cut and removed from the turtle. Wounds were found on its flipper and shell. The turtle was taken to the Phuket Marine Biological Center in Wichit for medical treatment.
