Dugong Found Dead in Krabi

Another dugong was found dead on a beach in Krabi, the sixth dead dugong in Krabi this year.

The head of the Hat Nopparat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park in Krabi Mrs. Rakchanok Paenoi told the Phuket Express this week that she was notified by the national park staff that they had found a dead dugong on Tab Kaek Beach in the national park area.

The female dugong weighed 140 kilograms and was 204 centimeters long. No wounds were found on the dead dugong. It was taken to the Marine Resources Research Center to find its cause of death. It has been reported that this is the sixth dead dugong found in Krabi this year.
