UPDATE: Five Year Closure Ordered For Two Nightclubs in Kathu After Raid

Five year closure orders have been issued for two nightclubs in Kathu after a recent raid.

Our previous story:

Officials from the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) led by Mr. Narong Thipsiri and Kathu Police raided two nightclubs ‘Ratree Club’ and ‘Maha Nakhon Phuket’ at 3:30 A.M. on Thursday (June 1st) in the early morning. Both nightclubs are located at the Kathu Intersection.

Five senior Kathu Police including the chief have been transferred after two illegal nightclubs were raided in Kathu for allegedly opening over the legal closing times and allowing minors to enter the venue.

The Kathu District Chief has been transferred to be the Chang Klang District Chief in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Now for the update:

On Monday (June 26th) at night a team from the Kathu district office placed orders at two previously popular nightclubs ‘Ratree Club’ and ‘Maha Nakhon Phuket’ in Kathu.

Both orders have been issued by the Phuket Vice Governor Amnouy Pinsuwan. The orders state that ‘Ratree Club’ and ‘Maha Nakhon Phuket’ have been ordered for a five year closure. The order is affected from June 26th, 2023 until the same date in 2028.
