Kathu District Chief Transferred to Nakhon Si Thammarat

Kathu –

The Kathu District Chief has been transferred to be the Chang Klang District Chief in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Our previous story:

Officials from the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) led by Mr. Narong Thipsiri and Kathu Police raided two nightclubs ‘Ratree Club’ and ‘Maha Nakhon Phuket’ at 3:30 A.M. on Thursday (June 1st) in the early morning. Both nightclubs are located at the Kathu Intersection.

Five senior Kathu Police including the chief have been transferred after two illegal nightclubs were raided in Kathu for allegedly opening over the legal closing times and allowing minors to enter the venue.

Now for the update:

The transfer order was issued by the Ministry of the Interior on Friday (June 2nd). The order does not specifically transfer only the Kathu District Chief but also two other district chiefs in Nakhon Si Thammarat and one in Songkhla who have also been ordered transferred.

The order did not state anything about the two night clubs raided in Kathu recently. The order states that the transfer is to improve administrative management.

The Kathu District Chief Mr. Thitiwat Boonkit will be transferred to be the Chang Klang District Chief in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The Pak Phanang District Chief Mr. Teerapong Chuaychoo in Nakhon Si Thammarat will be the Kathu District Chief.

The order will be effective on June 9th, 2023.

The Kathu District Chief Mr. Thitiwat has just been the Kathu District Chief for only four months. He has released a statement that he was not involved in the two nightclubs recently raided.
