French Motorbike Rider in Patong sent to Immigration Office and Reported to Embassy After Causing a Public Nuisance

A French motorbike rider in Patong was fined 1,500 baht before being reported to the French embassy after he caused a public nuisance.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that a video clip of foreign motorbike racers near Bangla Road had gone viral on social media again this week. One of them was seen on video doing wheel spins causing lots of smoke.

On Wednesday, (March 1st), the Patong Police tracked one of them down who was identified by police as Mr. Sofiane Ouenzerfi, 32, a French national. He is facing charges of causing a public nuisance and driving without a driving license. He was fined 1,500 baht. The motorbike rental operator was fined 1,000 baht for allowing someone without a driving license to drive their motorbike.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they have reported the incident to the French Embassy and that Sofiane is now at the Phuket Immigration Office.
