Phuket Minivan Driver Has Driving License Suspended for 90 Days After Playing on Mobile Phone – VIDEO

A minivan driver’s driving license has been suspended for 90 days and he was fined 2,000 baht after he was found playing games on a mobile phone while driving with passengers.

A video clip of a minivan driver who was playing games on a mobile phone while driving had gone viral on social media yesterday morning (February 13th). The video clip was recorded by a passenger.

The Phuket Land Transport Office Chief (PLTO) Mr. Atcha Buajan told the Phuket Express that the minivan driver was quickly identified and called to a meeting yesterday afternoon. The name and age of the minivan driver was not given by the official. The driver’s driving license will be suspended for 90 days and he will be fined 2,000 baht.

The driver said that he was transferring six foreign tourists and one Thai tourist from Rassada Pier in Mueang Phuket to Patong. He admitted he played the game (SLOTS) while driving but claimed this was the first time he had ever done so.
