Phuket Governor prepares for Noru storm

The Phuket Governor is preparing to handle the Noru storm.

The Thai Meteorological Department on Wednesday, September 28th, reported on the weakening NORU typhoon to a tropical storm before passing over Ubon Ratchathani and Amnat Charoen on Thursday, September 29th.

A meeting was held at the Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday (September 28th) and was led by the Phuket Governor Naroong Woonciew.

Governor Naroong told the Phuket Express, “We are prepared to handle the Noru storm including water removal, shelter, food and other assistance to help people. Every relevant office is ready to help as fast as possible with plans.”

The Phuket Marine Office has made an announcement for boats going into the sea due to strong winds and waves which is in effect until October 1st.

TPN notes that the storm is not expected to heavily impact Phuket.
