Patong –
A Saudi Arabian and a Russian motorbike rider were arrested in Patong for drunk driving on Tuesday (May 7th).
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they had set up a police checkpoint at an intersection near the dolphin intersection (local name) on the Taweewong Road in Patong.
Two suspicious male foreign motorbike riders were stopped at the police checkpoint at 3:30 A.M.. Suspects identified only as a 38 year-old Saudi Arabian rider, and 47-year-old Russian rider, were both given alcohol breath tests. Their tests showed .93 and .103 milligrams percent of alcohol which were over the legal alcohol limit of .50.
They were taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. They did not immediately release statements to the media.
