Saudi Arabian Man Arrested for Drunk Driving in Patong

A Saudi Arabian motorbike rider was arrested in Patong for drunk driving on Thursday (May 2nd).

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they had set up a police checkpoint near the Coconut Intersection (local name) on the Ratch Uthit 200 Pi Road from 1:45 A.M. to 3:45 A.M.. A suspicious male foreign motorbike rider was stopped at the police checkpoint.

He was given an alcohol breath test. The test showed .112 milligrams percent of alcohol which was over the legal alcohol limit of .50.

The rider was identified by police only as Mr. Hamet, 29, Saudi Arabian national. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. He did not immediately release a statement to the media.
