Patong –
An Indian motorbike rider was arrested in Patong for drunk driving on Thursday (April 25th).
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they had set up a police checkpoint near the Dolphin Roundabout on the Taweewong. At 6:15 A.M. a suspicious male foreign motorbike rider was stopped at the police checkpoint.
He was given an alcohol breath test. The test showed .174 milligrams percent of alcohol which was over the legal alcohol limit of .50.
The rider was identified by police only as a 27 year-old Indian national. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. He did not immediately release a statement to the media.
