Israeli and Russian Motorbike Riders Arrested for Drunk Driving in Patong

Israeli and Russian motorbike riders were arrested in Patong for drunk driving on Thursday (April 25th).

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they had set up a police checkpoint at an intersection near a football field on the Phra Metta Road in Patong after midnight until 3:00 A.M..

Two suspicious male foreign motorbike riders were stopped at the police checkpoint. The 34 year-old Israeli rider and 35 year-old Russian rider were both given alcohol breath tests. Their test showed .60 and .96 milligrams percent of alcohol which were over the legal alcohol limit of .50.

They were taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. They did not immediately release statements to the media.
