Patong –
A French motorbike rider was arrested in Patong for drunk driving on Tuesday (April 23rd).
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they had set up a police checkpoint on the Phra Metta Road. At 2:30 A.M. a suspicious male foreign motorbike rider was stopped at the police checkpoint.
He was given an alcohol breath test. The test showed .63 milligrams percent of alcohol which was over the legal alcohol limit of .50.
The rider was only later identified by police as Mr. Mehdi, 21, a French national. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. He did not immediately release a statement to the media.
