Teenager Arrested After Gunshot Incident in Kathu, Phuket

Kathu, Thailand– A 17-year-old male teenager has been apprehended by authorities after allegedly firing a gunshot at a 16-year-old male teenager in the town of Kathu. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 27th.

According to police reports, the Kathu Police received notification from Patong Hospital at 3:27 A.M of the incident. The injured teenager, whose name was withheld due to his age, had sustained a gunshot wound to his arm. He recounted to the police that he and his friends were riding on a motorbike along the Kathu – Na Koh Road when a pickup truck approached them. Suddenly, shots were fired in their direction.

Despite being injured, the 16-year-old decided to return home rather than seek immediate medical attention. It was only when his mother noticed his condition that he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation swiftly progressed as authorities reviewed CCTV footage from the incident scene. Within the same day, they successfully identified the suspect: a 17-year-old male teenager, name withheld due to being a juvenile Upon apprehending him, the police seized a handmade handgun along with five bullets.

The suspect claimed that the 16-year-old male teenager had allegedly threatened him prior to the incident, prompting him to pursue and open fire. The police are currently continuing their investigation to determine the appropriate legal action.

As the case unfolds, the legal system will determine the consequences for the accused teenager. The injured victim is expected to recover fully, but the emotional impact of the incident may linger for some time.
