A video clip of an Asian female tourist urinating on the famous Bangla Road went viral in social media this week.
According to the video clip, the female tourist appeared to pull down her elephant pants before urinating at a sign pole on the walking street near the Patong Beach at night time where lots of people could see her. She was with another male tourist, according to the video.
Witnessed to the video and incident reportedly said the female foreign tourist is Japanese but that isn’t confirmed as of press time. Many social media users have complained recently about foreign tourists in Phuket who behaved improperly.
Comments online regarding the video were almost universally negative although some people stated that the person taking and posting the video online could also be breaking various recording or obscenity laws and suggested they should have given the video directly to the police instead.
Some people also suggested that more public, free restrooms in tourist areas could help stop problems like this.
The exact date and time of the video was unknown but police were reportedly aware of the footage and ‘looking into it.” For legal reasons, The Phuket Express has decided not to share the video.
