Patong –
Another alleged Russian prostitute was arrested in Patong after a sting operation, the third woman in about a week.
Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they arrested a Russian woman at a hotel in Patong. The arrest came after police operated a sting operation because they had received a tip off that Russian prostitutes were working illegally in Patong.
The Russian woman was advertised on an undisclosed website. She communicated with an undercover police officer via the WhatsApp application under the name ‘Linda Agency’. She agreed on a price of 13,000 baht for her services and made an appointment at an unidentified hotel where she was eventually arrested.
She was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of prostitution and advertising for prostitution, as well as working illegally. She is also likely to be deported.
Her name and age were not released by the Patong police.
