Man Arrested for Selling Fireworks at Patong Beach

A man was arrested at the Patong Beach for illegally selling fireworks.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Sunday (February 18th) they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Boonsueb, 50, from Buriram. He was arrested near a hotel on the Patong Beach. Seized from him were 10 sets of fireworks. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of selling fireworks without permission.

The Phuket Express notes that in Thailand, floating lanterns and fireworks are not allowed to be set off in public without permission. Anyone who offends this rule shall be fined up to 60,000 baht and/or imprisonment for up to three years.
