Rider Dies after Motorbike Crash in Kathu

A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorbike crashed at a curve in Kathu.

The Kathu Police were notified of the accident on Thursday morning (February 1st) at 5:00 A.M. on the Wichit Songkram Road in front of the Kathu Temple.

Emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the body of Mr. Sutthisak Ketkhao, 33, from Trang, on the road with severe head injuries and covered in blood. Nearby was found his damaged motorbike.

Witnesses told police that the motorbike rider was driving at high speed before losing control at the curve. His head had collided with the road and he had not been wearing a protective motorbike helmet.

Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident.
