Wanted Belgian/Moroccan Patong DJ Arrested for Attempted Murder in His Home Country

A wanted Belgian / Moroccan National who worked as a DJ in Patong was arrested after he was allegedly involved in an attempted murder in his home country.

The Royal Thai Immigration Bureau revealed to the press on Tuesday (January 23rd) that they had arrested the wanted suspect, identified only as Mr. Achmal, 36, a Belgian/Moroccan national, at an apartment in Patong.

An arrest warrant had originally been issued for the suspect in Belgium. He is being accused of attempted murder, carrying a gun without permission, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was taken to the Foreign Affairs Office for extradition to Belgium.

The Thai Immigration Bureau also found that Mr. Achmal had entered Thailand many times with his Belgian passport. After that he switched to his Moroccan passport. He stayed in Bangkok, Sisaket, (northeast) and Phuket. His current registered address is in Patong and reportedly worked as a DJ in Patong.
