Housekeeper Arrested after Stealing from Frenchman in Patong

A house keeper was arrested after she stole 90,000 Baht from a French man at an apartment in Patong.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday, (January 9th), a 50-year-old French man who withheld his name filed a report to Patong police. He told the police that on November 27th last year, 2023, he rented an apartment on the Na Nai Road in the morning. He kept about 95,000 baht, or almost 3,000 USD, in a red bag in his room. On Tuesday, (January 9th), his money disappeared.

On Friday, (January 13th), Patong police arrested the female house keeper but did not name her to the press. She admitted to police that she stole the 90,000 baht from the victim and used the money to buy many expensive items.

The house keeper was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of theft. She remains in custody as of press time.
