Phuket Reports Total of 20 Accidents in Three Days of New Year Seven Days Road Safety Campaign

Phuket has announced in total 20 road accidents with 21 injuries in three days (December 29th – December 31st) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign (December 29th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Monday ( January 1st) details on the third day of the safety campaign (December 31st).

There were 8 road accidents with 9 injuries on the third day (December 31sth). Four road accidents with four injuries were in the Mueang Phuket district. One road accident with one injury was in Thalang. Three road accidents with four injuries were in the Kathu district. No deaths were reported.

All of those 8 road accidents involved motorcycles.

Five of those involved drunk driving and three were speeding related.

Four road accidents were on straight roads, one was at an intersection, and three were on steep roads.

Since three days after the campaign started, Phuket has still reported zero deaths.

Phuket has announced in total 12 road accidents with 12 injuries in two days (December 29th – December 30th) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign (December 29th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024).
