Phuket Reports Total of 12 Accidents in Two Days of New Year Seven Days Road Safety Campaign

Phuket has announced in total 12 road accidents with 12 injuries in two days (December 29th – December 30th) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign (December 29th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express today (December 31st) details on the second day (December 30th).

There were 8 road accidents with 8 injuries on the second day (December 30th). Two road accidents with two injuries were in Mueang Phuket district. Three road accidents with three injuries were in the Thalang and Kathu district. No deaths were reported.

Of those 8 road accidents, 7 road accidents involved motorcycles, and one road accident was with a bicycle.

Two of those involved drunk driving and the other was speeding.

Seven road accidents were on straight roads and the other was on a normal curve.

Since two days after the campaign, Phuket has still reported zero deaths.

Phuket has announced in total four road accidents with four injuries on the first day (December 29th) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign.
