One Person Injured after Crane Truck Crashes into Homes and Vehicles in Patong – Videos

A crane truck crashed into at least two power poles, two homes, and at least six cars and four motorbikes before catching fire in Patong. One person has been injured.

Firefighters were notified of the accident on Saturday morning (December 16th) on the 50 Years Hill Road in Patong. They arrived at the scene to find the damaged crane truck that had crashed into homes and caught fire.

At least two power poles, two homes, four motorbikes and six cars including a pickup truck were damaged. Of those cars, three of them were totally destroyed by the crash.

An unidentified driver of a pickup truck had also sustained injuries. The pickup truck was stuck between the crane truck and a tree. The pickup truck driver, whose name was only released as Mr. Tom, had sustained chest pain. He said he was driving behind the crane truck heading up onto the hill.

According to Tom, the crane truck seemed to be unable to ascend the hill before moving backwards. After the crane truck crashed into his pickup truck and a tree, he jumped out from his pickup truck to escape from the fire.

The Patong Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action. A significant amount of financial damage is being attributed to the accident.
