Chinese Woman Arrested For Illegally Begging in Patong

Patong –

A Chinese woman was arrested after she was found illegally asking for money from people in Patong.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that on Friday (November 24th) they arrested an unidentified 40-year-old Chinese woman. Her name was withheld by Phuket police.

She was reportedly found begging for money from people at the Walking Street Food Court on the Taweewong Road. She also showing people a card written in Thai and English which can be seen below.

However the Phuket Tourist Police did not clarify if the Chinese woman is in fact hearing impaired or associated with any deaf mute organisations as claimed.

She is being accused of working without permission and asking money from people in public without permission.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that they are continuing their investigation to find out if the Chinese woman was working with others as part of a team. However she will be blacklisted and deported regardless.
