Phuket Warns of Floating Lanterns and Fireworks

Phuket officials have reminded the public that no fireworks or floating lanterns are allowed in the Loy Krathong celebrations unless special approval is given in advance by Phuket officials, punishments will be handed out for any infringements.

The Patong Municipality, the Phuket City Municipality and the Kathu Municipality have reminded the public for Loy Krathong day on Monday (November 27th).

“Any kind of fireworks or floating lanterns are NOT allowed in any Phuket area unless special approval is given by district officials. Any violation could see one imprisoned for up to three years or fined up to 60,000 baht or both.”
