Man Arrested for Selling Magic Mushrooms in Patong

A man was arrested at a cannabis shop in Patong. He was found selling magic mushrooms which are listed as illegal category 5 drugs in Thailand.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (November 15th) they arrested a man at a cannabis shop on the Kamala – Patong Road. Seized from him were various types of magic mushrooms which were listed as WTAT, APE, DT, DC, LG, and BT, in total 131.8 grams were seized. The magic mushrooms were found by eagle-eyed officers in boxes hidden under a counter.

The suspect was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 5 drugs (magic mushrooms). The Phuket Express noted the Patong Police did not give any further details about the seller.

The Patong Police are continuing to crack down on illegal magic mushrooms being sold mostly at cannabis shops and multiple arrests have taken place lately such as this one.
