Now for the update:

The Phuket Provincial Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (November 14th) they arrested two suspects identified only as Mr. Noon, 34, and Mr. Sarayut, 29, from Pattani. They were arrested at a house and at a bus parking area in Soi Lueang Por Kluem in Wichit, Mueang Phuket. Seized from them were two slingshots and 72 iron balls used with slingshots.

An arrest warrant was issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on November 13th, 2023. The two men are being accused of damaging public vehicles, causing harm to others, and causing property damage.

They both admitted to the charges, said police. They used slingshots to damage in total ten buses from October 26th to November 11th, 2023. They were hired for 1,000 baht per bus but could not provide the full name of the person or people who hired them or who they represented.

It has been reported that those damaged buses are from other provinces. They are being hired to transport passengers in Phuket as their prices are cheaper than buses in Phuket. Police are continuing their investigation to find out who hired them for further legal action.
