Thalang –

A 25-year-old man was arrested with 246,000 methamphetamine pills in a room in Thalang, Phuket.

The Thai Narcotics Suppression Bureau told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they and the Phuket Provincial Police arrested Mr. Akbankan ‘Bas’ Wongmanee, 25, from Ubon Ratchathani, in the northeast of Thailand. He was arrested at a rental room in Baan Liphon, Sri Soonthorn. Seized from him were 246,000 methamphetamine pills.

He was taken to the Thalang Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell.

The arrest of Bas follows after last month police first arrested Mr. Non at a hotel on Chao Fa Road in Talad Nuea. Seized from him were 46,400 meth pills.

Police continued their investigation and they found that there were other people involved in the drug network with Non that led to the arrest of Bas.
