Two People Arrested for Selling Magic Mushrooms in Patong with Foreign Customers in Bar

Patong –

Two people were arrested at a bar on the Bangla Road. They were found selling magic mushrooms which are listed as illegal category 5 drugs in Thailand, say police. Foreign customers were also found in the bar.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (November 8th) after midnight they arrested two unidentified suspects, a man and a woman. Seized from them were various types of magic mushrooms which were listed as APE and DC, in total 10 grams were seized. Police also seized Nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, which is also illegal.

The suspects were taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 5 drugs (magic mushrooms). The Phuket Express noted the Patong Police did not give any further details about the two suspects or if the foreign customers in the bar would face any legal charges.

The names of the suspects and the bar were either by Patong Police pending further investigation.
