Driver and Young Son Escape Serious injury After Car Overturns on Patong Hill

Patong, Kathu –

A driver and his young son have escaped severe injury after a car overturned on Patong Hill in Kathu.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Tuesday afternoon (October 24th) on No. 4029 Road (Patong – Kathu Road) near a pressure water pump station. They arrived at the scene to find the overturned car on the road.

Two people were found inside the car, the driver and his young son. They had sustained only minor injuries. Their names were withheld by rescue teams.

The driver told rescue workers that he was driving from Patong heading to Kathu. When he arrived at the curve down the hill, the car engine reportedly turned off by itself and he was unable to brake or control his car. He decided to crash into the roadside instead of roll down the hill.
