Devotees Climb on Razor Ladder at Phuket Chinese Shrines – PHOTO TOUR/VIDEO

About sixty devotees climbed on a high sharp razor ladder at Phuket Chinese Shrines during the recent Vegetarian Festival.

On Saturday night (October 21^st), a sharp razor ladder climbing ritual was held at the Bang Neow Chinese Shrine on the Phuket Road in Talad Yai in Phuket Town and at the Sam Kong Chinese Shrine on the Yaowarad Road in Sam Kong, Rassada.

There were more than 40 devotees who climbed on the high razor ladder with 72 steps at the Bang Neow Chinese Shrine and about 20 devotees at the Sam Kong Chinese Shrine.

Climbing on sharp razor ladders is to demonstrate their devotion to gods to show razors cannot hurt them as well as to relieve the burden of unlucky things and bad karma from the people who were watching the ritual ceremony.
