Minor Found at Unlicensed Patong Massage Shop

Patong –

A Thai woman was arrested after she allegedly opened an unlicensed massage shop without permission and allowed a minor to work.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they received complaints from concerned citizens that a massage shop was illegally opened and employees under the age of 18 were servicing customers in Patong and launched an investigation.

On Saturday (August 12th) they arrested a woman identified only as Ms. Ornuma, her age was not given by police, at a massage shop on Ratch Uthit 200 Pi Road.

She was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges with opening a massage shop without permission and allowing employees under 18-years-old to work at the massage shop.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that minors are not qualified to work at massage shops.

This was the second massage shop shut down for being unlicensed and allowing minors to work in the same area in a week in Patong.

Police have in general been cracking down on unlicensed massage shops in Phuket also, as seen here.
