A couple were arrested with more than 27,000 methamphetamine pills and 900 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Kathu.
A team of Kathu Police led by Lieutenant Colonel Chayaphon Punaruemit arrested Mr. Weerawong ‘Nueng’ Noijan, 39, from Patong, and Ms. Bulin ‘Fon’ Daecha from Kathu. They were arrested at a rental room on Soi Thida in Kathu.
Seized from them were 27,503 methamphetamine pills, 905.98 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a handmade handgun with three bullets, a car, and six motorbikes.
Lieutenant Colonel Chayaphon told the Phuket Express that the arrest came after police received a tip off that the suspects were significant drug dealers that were selling illegal drugs in the Kathu area. They were taken to the Kathu Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
