Injured Sea Turtle Rescued on Patong Beach

Lifeguards helped an injured sea turtle on Patong Beach.

Patong Beach lifeguards told the Phuket Express that on Sunday afternoon (July 16th) they found an injured sea turtle on Patong Beach. Staff from the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Wichit were immediately called to assist.

The rescue center arrived at the beach to find a young green sea turtle. It was 35.5 centimeters long, 33.5 centimeters wide, and weighed 3.8 kilograms. The turtle was weak and dehydrated. It was also thin and covered with seaweed and shipworms. The turtle was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center for further medical treatment.
