Sick Sea Turtle Rescued on Patong Beach

A sick sea turtle has been rescued on Patong Beach.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the sea turtle on Patong beach on Tuesday (July 4th). They arrived at the beach to find a young Hawksbill sea turtle.

It was 34 centimeters long, 29 centimeters wide and weighed 2.7 kilograms. The turtle was weak with some wounds on its front flipper. After a full examination, they found that its intestine was clogged. The turtle was suffering from a lack of protein and has been given medical treatment.

The turtle is expected to make a full recovery.
