Weak Dolphin Found Near Pier in Wichit

Wichit –

An exhausted dolphin has been rescued after being found near a pier in Wichit.

The Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Phuket told the Phuket Express that on Thursday (June 15th) they were notified of the weak dolphin at the Phuket Customs House Pier in Wichit.

They arrived at the pier to find the dolphin which was still alive. The male dolphin is 193 centimeters long and weighs 42 kilograms. No wounds were found on the dolphin but the dolphin was exhausted. The dolphin was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Wichit for treatment before being released back to the sea.

However, staffers at the center did not mention if the dolphin is the same one that was spotted at the Tha Jeen Canal in Rassada as we covered below:

A dolphin was sighted in a canal in the Rassada sub-district, Mueang Phuket.
