Dolphin Spotted at Canal in Rassada – VIDEO

Rassada, Phuket –

A dolphin was sighted in a canal in the Rassada sub-district, Mueang Phuket.

Local residents in Rassada spotted a dolphin in the Tha Jeen Canal at the Koh Sirey Bridge earlier on Thursday (June 15th). Local residents informed local rescue workers before they arrived at the canal about the dolphin and they all went into the canal with a dinghy boat to get closer to the dolphin.

Officials from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) were called to the scene to check if the dolphin was injured or weak.

It is believed that the dolphin got separated from its group. The canal had brackish water where fresh water converges with the sea water. Staffers from the center have led the dolphin to move back into the sea safely
