UPDATE: Dutch Woman Arrested at Phuket Airport Claims Immigration Officer Forgot to Stamp Her Passport on Entry

Phuket –

The Dutch woman who was arrested at the Phuket International Airport last week in a case that went viral claims she did nothing wrong and it was because an Immigration Officer forgot to put a stamp on her passport.

Our previous story:

A Dutch woman was arrested at the Phuket International Airport for entering and staying in the Kingdom of Thailand without a proper permit or visa.

The Telegraaf reports that the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the woman has received assistance from the Netherlands Embassy for this case. The woman said she was detained for five days and it was a nightmare for her when, according to her, she did nothing wrong. She claims when she entered Thailand recently an Immigration Officer forgot to stamp her passport.

The woman has warned other tourists to check their stamps on their passports or else they could be in trouble like her.

A similar case happened to another Dutch man who also received assistance from the embassy too. Both of them did not receive any yellow or red cards, however. It is unclear if Thai Immigration will review the incidents or comment on them.

The Phuket Immigration revealed to the Thai media that two foreigners received red cards and four foreigners received a yellow card this month, March 2023, so far.
